NuroKor plans expansion into medical markets led by specialist Chief Commercial Officer

Catherine Kelly
Public Relations Director

NuroKor is delighted to announce its third key appointment for 2021, with Jonathan Penny joining as  Chief Commercial Officer - Medical and Clinical Markets.

With 16 years’ experience in senior medical sales across UK, EMEA and Australian markets, the former International Head of Sales has headed teams across specialties including orthopaedics, cardiac, vascular and anaesthetics.

Jonathan Penny

Jonathan specialises in increasing market penetration of medical products and brings a solid track record of building and leading direct sales teams, establishing new markets and managing distributor networks. He said:

“I have spent over 10 years working within the pain field and seen first-hand the effect it has on patients. To join a company that can offer a solution, that can be applied in many different patient groups and is both easy and effective, was an opportunity I wanted to be a part of.
“The team Rick has brought together shows the ambition of NuroKor. The strength of the therapy can be seen in the wide-ranging group of ambassadors and customers using the products, these are two of the most important factors in building a successful company.”

His final position at leading medical device company Nevro Medical saw him successfully lead the international sales teams - helping to grow the company to a listed PLC with $390million revenue.

As part of this, he was responsible for establishing and developing direct and distributor models across 16 different countries, including implementing successful business strategies. Key to this success was the ability to quickly understand market variances and to develop the new teams required.

Jonathan  started his career at medical and surgical product supplier Vygon (UK), before joining Atrium Medical Europe and global and NHS healthcare supplier Baxter Healthcare (formerly Apatech).

“I see NuroKor changing the way patients receive the correct type of treatment – with it being tailored to their needs, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. And it enables clinicians to have the right tools to do this easily and effectively.”

Outside work, Jonathan is kept busy by his three children, enjoys CrossFit and his memberships to Royal Troon Golf Club and The Whisky Society.
