From strength to strength, Chief Operating Officer appointed at NuroKor
Meet NuroKor's new Chief Operating Officer - Matt James
After a record year of phenomenal growth, NuroKor has appointed Matt James as Chief Operating Officer and a key member of the pioneering medtech’s senior leadership team.
Matt brings 25 years’ experience working across startups, technology, early stage company build and operating programme delivery.
Matt will be driving NuroKor’s strategic vision, further expanding the business and partnerships, enabling it to become a principal global electroceuticals provider.
A keen advocate of sustainable business operations, Matt will ensure that NuroKor’s expansion aligns to its environmental and sustainability goals, integral to overall growth plans.
Prior to NuroKor, Matt was Head of Operations with non-invasive, biotech sensor company Zedsen. His role included close collaboration with engineers and scientists, developing unique, cutting-edge technology. His remit included responsibility for operational strategy and delivery of biometric diagnostics projects.
One of Matt’s key achievements at the healthtech startup included securing £500,000 funding from Innovate UK.
Previously, he was Technical Production Manager at the British Medical Journal (BMJ). During 12 years at the BMJ, Matt led the transformation to digital production of the UK’s leading medical publication, along with a further 32 monthly titles.
Matt explains: “My time working at the BMJ, resulted in me adding the area of medicine to my lifelong interest in cutting-edge technologies. I have continued this focus through my work in biotech, alongside my key roles in startup growth and funding.
“As a leader in operations and operational delivery programmes for over two decades, I’m deeply impressed by the progress that NuroKor has made in such a short time. With so much more planned for 2022 and beyond, the prospects for further advances are hugely exciting.
“Suffering from chronic back pain for many years, I have first-hand insight into many of our users’ needs for alternative solutions to painkillers and anti-inflammatories that are, above all, safe and effective.”
Outside work, Matt is a dedicated cyclist, lead guitar player and a passionate follower of many types of sport. A lover of long bike adventures, he completed a 985-mile charity ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats in 2018.
